Our Favourite Beauty Products From 2021
It's that time of year again: Time for you to watch Elf for the 326th time and time for us to share our favourite beauty finds of the year. Yknow, just in case you've had enough of shopping for other people and want to buy yourself a festive treat.
“With one of my (many) lockdown online purchases, I decided to add a lip and cheek tint. I had never tried one before but it is so easy to use, it stays on my cheeks for hours and looks just like skin for those makeup free days. I have hardly touched another blush since. I use the Benefit Benetint stain but DM us if you have another tint you love, I will read it!”

“My top spot this year goes to Vieve Sunset Blush in Pesca. A surprising pick, considering cream blush has always been my weapon of choice, but the reviews on this one convinced me to try something new and I’m glad I did. The coral shade is lovely and brightening (definitely not drying or cakey) and the powder formula means that it doesn’t disappear in half an hour (ideal because I’m too lazy to touch up anything throughout the day). 15/10.”

"I had to change up my skincare routine (significantly) since finding out I was pregnant earlier this year. One of my greatest finds was, the Votary Brightening Hyaluronic Serum. It’s the perfect light-weight hydrating serum for someone with skin who becomes easily congested. It’s non-sticky, smells divine and leaves your skin perfectly plump and hydrated. Bonus: It has 3% Glycolic Acid which has really helped me keep texture and pigmentation at bay."

“I took up swimming this year which meant a lot of testing products to help with irritated, chlorine-damaged skin. I finally decided to give snail mucin a go and it saved my skin. It’s suuuuper hydrating, fragrance-free and ultra gentle on my poor face. Plus, it layers nicely under serums and SPF, no tacky, pill-y skin. I use the Cosrx Advanced Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence—it slotted seamlessly into my routine and I’m never ever looking back.”

“A second year of lockdown snacking and wearing masks really took havoc on my skin in 2021. So, I needed an everyday something to help keep breakouts under control. That something ended up being Paula's Choice 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant. It's gentle enough to use daily, very lightweight and lovely, excellent for my pesky chin acne, and a much more attractive option than skipping my 11am/2pm/4pm lockdown chocolate.”

“A scalp shampoo! How glamorous!! Sachajuan Scalp Shampoo has 100% been my biggest and best beauty find and savour in 2021. It leaves my hair build-up-free, silky smooth and has brought life back to my hair! It’s been worth every cent, I wish I had discovered it sooner."

“As so much of 2021 was spent in lockdown, I learnt a few tricks to keep my hair looking as healthy and fresh as possible. Working a regular nourishing hair mask into my routine did wonders. I tested a few but always gravitated towards the Coco & Eve Fig Hair Masque for seriously silky and soft hair. Discovering the power of at-home toning treatments to maintain colour was also a game-changer. My top pick is Evo Fabuloso!”

"My favourite beauty find this year has got to be Dior Lip Glow in Mahogany. I’m going to say TikTok made me buy it as I would have not discovered it otherwise. I love how it delivers colour but is hydrating at the same time. Best for no-makeup makeup days."
-Yvonne, Social Media Manager
"Had you ever asked me if I thought pomade was a super necessary hair product to have in your stash I’d say no, but GUYS this R+Co Dart Pomade Stick is what slick bun dreams are made of. It smooths down pesky flyaways, whips freshly washed hair into shape, smells unreal, and is so convenient to use. This stuff is magic, and the 153 people I’ve already convinced to buy it think so too."
