With a few new categories under our belt and a packaging refresh en route, it only made sense to bring The Go-To Gang along for the ride. We invited four lucky squids to feature in our most recent photoshoot—and naturally, pranced at the chance to chat about all things Go-To with the people who know it the best.
How does Go-To make you feel?
AMANDA: Using Go-To products makes me feel really happy and confident with my skincare routine. Everything is laid out in such simple steps, and you can do as little or as much as you like, depending on the kind of day you’re having or how your skin is feeling at that point in life. It just makes skincare super easy.
DAISY: Go-To makes skincare feel accessible and approachable, and not as daunting as it can be before you find the right brand. I hadn’t done anything like this before, but I’ve now had the opportunity to be involved twice, which has been really great. The team here are awesome—I feel like the branding really comes through in the people. Everyone is so lovely, and it’s just been a really fun experience.
NICOL: Go-To makes me feel fabulous—it makes my skin feel happy and comfortable. I’m someone who hasn’t had happy or comfortable skin for most of my life, so over the last five years, my skin has really breathed a deep sigh of relief. I feel like I can just get on with my life without constantly thinking about my skin, which has been an absolute game changer.
SEYI: It's made me feel really empowered and I feel like it's been…a bit of a confidence booster a little bit too. But I think too seeing how the products look in their fresh, fresh new look, it's also sparked a little bit of that excitement too.
What does being comfortable in your skin mean to you?
AMANDA: Being comfortable in my own skin is really about being able to put on a big smile and face the day. My skin and I have had a very complicated relationship over the years, especially with hormonal acne breakouts. Knowing that I have products like Go-To that I can switch up depending on what my skin is doing at different points in my life has really helped me on my skin journey.
DAISY: Being comfortable in my own skin means embracing both your flaws—the blemishes—and the clear skin as well. To me, being comfortable in my own skin is about walking out of the house and not feeling like I need to cover up beforehand.
NICOL: To me, being comfortable in your own skin is about finding where you are and loving it. Before I started using Go-To, I’d tried so many brands, and my skin was patchy, uneven, red, and angry—just generally very unhappy. I thought it must just be my skin, because nothing ever seemed to work. I was really searching for something I could use, trust, and then forget about—something that made me feel comfortable.
SEYI: I think good skin makes me feel good too. Go-To is phenomenal in being able to support that confidence by creating such lush products that feed the skin with nutrients and create an overall glowing effect. Before Go-To, my skin, I would describe it as chaotic. I was having non-stop breakouts. I would have, because I've always had combination skin, dry patches and then oily patches on other sides of my face.
What are the products I can’t live without?
AMANDA: The products I can’t live without would probably be everyone’s favourite—Face Hero. I use it religiously, morning and night. I also don’t know what I’d do without Fancy Face. Being able to remove that first layer of sunscreen and makeup every day makes such a big difference.
DAISY: I have two favourite products. One is Clarifying Face Hero, because it has honestly helped me so much with my confidence when it comes to my skin. My second favourite would be The Removalist—it makes my skin feel amazing, and I absolutely love the smell.
NICOL: My can’t-live-without Go-To products are Fancy Face and Very Glowy Primer. With Fancy Face, I love how nourished and cleansed my skin feels after using it. It’s so versatile—you can massage it into your skin for an extended period and almost get a mask-like result, as well as using it as part of a double cleanse. It feels so lovely and nourishing, and it removes all traces of sunscreen so you go to bed feeling fresh.
SEYI: So the product I cannot live without is the Very Luxe Face Cream. That cream is delicious. My skin absolutely loves it. It's hydrating, it's plumping, it creates a really good base for my skin. It creates a bit of a luminous effect as well. And I have been using it pretty much since launch, twice a day sometimes.
How would you describe Go-To in three words?
AMANDA: In three words, I’d describe Go-To as fun, vibrant, and classy. I especially describe Go-To as classy—after seeing the new packaging, it’s definitely elevated itself to another level, and I’m really excited for everyone else to see it too.
DAISY: I’d describe Go-To as accessible, bright, and like a friend—because they’re always going to be there for you at the end of the day.
NICOL: I’d describe Go-To as fun, easy, and for absolutely everybody—that’s three words all on its own.
SEYI: I would describe Go-To as: essential. I think that's a pretty clear one given the name. I would say fun. And I would also say there's just this way that Go-To builds that inner confidence. I know I keep coming back to this theme around confidence, but when you feel good in your skin, that makes such a big difference. Go-To has a really great way of making skincare fun, but also giving you the confidence to build the routine however you like it.
