Bemotrizinol

A chemical UV filter which provides very effective protection against UVA and UVB rays.

Benzyl Alcohol

A preservative which protects Go-To products from spoiling by inhibiting microbial growth.

Butylene Glycol

A humectant which also helps solvate ingredients in the product.

Cetostearyl Alcohol

A fatty alcohol (the good kind of alcohol, not the irritating kind) which helps stabilise emulsions. It also adds body to the product and gives a nice, soft skin feel.

Decyl Glucoside

Used to help solubilise ingredients in the formulation.

Dibasic Sodium Phosphate

Used to buffer the pH of the product.

Dicaprylyl Carbonate

An emollient that provides the product with a light, velvety skin feel and to spread easily.

Diethylamino Hydroxybenzoyl Hexyl Benzoate

A chemical UV filter which provides very effective protection against UVA rays.

Ethylhexyl Triazone

Apply cream liberally to exposed skin 20 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply every 2 hours or more often if necessary, and after swimming, excessive perspiration or toweling. And remember: Your face stops at your boobs.

Unless you live in Alaska, skip this step (no need for SPF while you and the sun are snoozing). But we do recommend a really thorough double cleanse to whisk away any lingering product and avoid buildup.

    Pills like crazy

    I really wanted to love this but the pilling is so bad, no matter what I put underneath. I’m skeptical that it provides any sun protection because just rolls off my face in clumps. I really don’t like the tint in it either. Ends up all over my clothes.

    Love all the filters, but does pill

    This is a great sunscreen, though doesn't have a tint to make your skin look a bit bitter. I love that it has the most advanced filters, but it does pill a bit. You need to let each step of your skincare routine soak in a bit before you apply this to try to reduce pilling.
