The Advanced Skincare Routine

The Advanced Skincare Routine

Don’t worry, you can still read this with your LED mask on.

I heard you’re looking to ascend to the final tier of skincare-dom. Congrats! I’ve actually taken a quick break from etching your celebratory plaque to write this blog.

This is the big league. No more occasionally sleeping in your makeup and definitely no more forgetting your SPF. You’re officially a skincare maestro: Cycling products, multi-tasking actives, and maybe even investing in some of those newfangled skincare tools

The advanced routine might seem all intense and intimidating but we’ll let you in on a little secret. All these steps? That’s where the fun of skincare really comes in. The ritual of self-care is about to get even more luxurious, with even more chances to play and experiment.

How To Know You’re An Advanced:

Your wish list is filled with skincare tools. You’ve been rolling in the skincare game for a while now, but you want more. It’s time to take your routine to the next level by getting area specific.

An Advanced Skincare Routine (AM/PM)

Cleanse

1. First Cleanse

Time for your oil cleanse.

2. Second Cleanse

This is where your everyday cleanser comes in.

Double Cleanse

Soft and Clean

The ultimate one-two punch for soft, clean skin. Cleanse away SPF, makeup, or that adorable colony of pastry crumbs with Fancy Face and Properly Clean.

3. Exfoliate (PM only, alt nights to retinol)

Now that you’ve been exfoliating for a while you can start to up your exfoliation to 2–3x a week depending how your skin feels. (Less is more when it comes to exfoliation so listen to your skin.)

4. Retinoid (PM only, alt nights to exfoliation)

Retinoids smooth fine lines and help boost collagen. A must for anyone over the age of 28, start by using once a week (on a different night to your exfoliants, please) and increase only once your skin adjusts.

5. Serum (AM and PM)

Vitamin C is a brilliant antioxidant in the morning, and a hyaluronic acid serum would work brilliantly at night.

Nourish

6. Face Oil

Following up your retinoids with a nourishing face oil is a great way to help manage potential irritation. A couple of drops before your moisturising step will add a layer of hydration.

7. Moisturise

Lock everything in with your favourite hydrating face cream.

Protect

8. SPF (AM only)

Every! Single! Day! Your SPF is especially important now that you're using actives (retinoids, chemical exfoliants, etc) which leave your skin more vulnerable to sun damage. Wear it.

That’s it—eight smart steps, layered with intention. Advanced skincare isn’t about overcomplicating things. It’s about working smarter, not harder with a healthy dose of indulgence. For good measure.
