How does a founder get her glow? Excellent skincare, maybe a touch of genetics, and some microneedling magic—after which, that excellent skincare has some heavy lifting to do. Here’s how Go-To’s founder/overlord Zoë soothes her skin post-treatment:
-
Ditch The Cleanser: “I don't cleanse in the morning. I feel a rinse is plenty. I just rinse off any debris from last night's moisturiser or mask. And because I don't have an oily or congested skin type, that is enough for me, but it's different according to skin type.”
-
Reach For An Antioxidant-Packed Serum: “I start with Much Brighter Skin: Our vitamin C serum. All the way down to the boobs, neck and deck. I just pat this in and make sure that all of that vitamin C, niacinamide, kakadu plum: That beautiful host array of antioxidants are getting in there.”
-
Follow Up With Something Hydrating: “Then I'm going to go on to Much Plumper Skin. This is our hydrating hyaluronic serum. Hyaluronic acid is a humectant and we actually use four types of hyaluronic in ours. It pulls moisture to the skin, locks it in there, and then doesn't allow it to leave. It's a really incredible way to get that hydration. Also, we've got lots of peptides in there because I want the balance and the firmness and the elasticity.”
-
Nourish With Face Oil: “Next is Face Hero. This is non-negotiable for me. This is our nourishing face oil. It's an incredible array of really nourishing oils and essential fatty acids. It's going to help nourish my skin. It's going to give an incredible glow and it's going to help keep my barrier really strong, which is what you want.”
-
Protect With Mineral SPF: “Now, you could go on with a moisturiser here, but all of our SPFs are made as daily moisturisers, so it should do both perfectly well. I'm using Nifty Fifty Mineral because it's common practice to use a mineral SPF after you've been doing spicy treatments.”
Very Helpful Tips:
For spicy post-treatment skin, how you apply your skincare is nearly as important as what you use.
-
Work From Most Active To Least: “General rule of thumb with serums is most active to least active in that order. This helps those more potent ingredients absorb and work better.”
-
Take A Beat Between Steps: “Try to leave each step on for 60 seconds. This lets each product absorb into the skin before applying the next and makes sure it doesn’t disturb what you just did.”
-
Pat Don’t Rub: “I push products in rather than rubbing everywhere on my face. It's going to help with keeping everything in place and also with my makeup coming on next. I don't want that friction.”
