I think we need to breakup . . . or maybe just take a break?! It's not you, it's me. I've found a love closer to home and I'm becoming obsessed. Thanks for the good times and good skin,
That's basically how the conversation went (in my head) when I made my way to the bathroom cabinet forGo-To Skin Care's new Fancy Face Nourishing Oil Cleanser($45) instead of my trusty Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser. TheGo-Toteam generously sent me the fancy new face cleanser pre-launch so that I could alert you, good-skin-loving-people, to my (and probably soon to be your) new favourite cleanser. Let me break it down.
This orange blossom-scented hand cream emerged as the favorite among our testers for its texture (on the thicker end, but sinks into skin quickly so you aren’t leaving greasy fingerprints everywhere). It’s also loaded with skin softeners like shea and cocoa butter, so your hands can remain soft even through multiple rounds of hand washing.
"Go-To is one of my favourite-ever Aussie beauty brands. One product that is definitely a must for winter is the Transformazing face mask. Deeply hydrating, packed with antioxidants and vitamin C (as well of lots of other great stuff), this product makes my face feel soft, bright and rehydrated." – Natalia Krslovic
Zoe Foster Blakehad a name for herself in the beauty game long before she startedGo-To Skincarein 2014. She went from Beauty Editor to popular beauty blogger, to author, to one half of the adorbs couple that is her andHamish Blake.
So when she started her own business in the beauty industry everyone was already on board with her image as a beauty expert. When she told the world she’d taken her expertise to create a natural product that stripped everything down to what actually worked, the world was ready to believe her.
Skincare can veer towards the serious, but there are brands that like to keep it light. GlamGlow is one skincare range making time at the basin fun. It boasts glitter-spiked masks and psychedelic daily cleansers.
Other brands include Sunday Riley and Ole Henriksen, which both create serious formulations and give them quirky names, as well as covetable, candycoloured packaging. It’s the equivalent of a wink every time you do your morning and evening skincare routine.
Locally, there is Go-To skincare. Created by Zoë Foster Blake, Go-To combines natural formulations with product names designed to make you smile. “Skincare is allowed to be fun and funny,” says Foster Blake. “Just because we’re a clean brand doesn’t mean that we’re a boring, earnest brand.”
I was stumped as to what I could put on it that wouldn’t irritate it (or worse still, make the infection reappear) but would give my face a good hit of hydration that it desperately needed to speed up the healing process.
And that’s when the Face Hero came into play. I started putting it on my face morning and night in the hope that it would at the very least not make it any worse. In hindsight this was a gamble, but it certainly paid off.
I don’t know which of the 10 plant and nut oils in that bottle did the job (I suspect it was the jojoba, but I also think the rosehip is a safe bet), but after a week, my skin was all but back to normal and then some. It was nothing short of a miracle.
Go-To Face Hero. Skincare is a huge priority for me when I'm flying. I always want my skin to feel comfortable and hydrated, and even with sheet masks, my face needs a bit of help. That's where this cocktail of face oils and serums comes in. Over time, I've tried out different combinations of face oils, serums, and moisturizers to figure out what works best for my in-flight skincare routine, and these five picks are it for me. This blend is perfectly hydrating and leaves my skin looking dewy and fresh from the plane ride to the street.
