Between campaign launches and new product development, our Chief Marketing Officer, Leonie, oversees Go-To’s whole marketing operation. A Tauran through and through, Leonie has been in the beauty industry for three decades. And no surprise: She’s got 15/10 skin. So we decided to ask how she does it.
Skin Concerns: Lack of firmness. Wrinkles. And evenness.
Skin Type: Mature/ Ageing
Skin Sign: Juggler
Routine In A Few Words: As the Go-To product tester, my routine is chaotic. But, I have a core routine that I stick to, and I make adjustments to that based on whatever new products I'm required to test at the time.
AM Routine:
PM routine:
This is a complicated beast.
-
Double cleanse. Always. I'm testing out [redacted] right now, but if I wasn’t, I’d use Fancy Face. Then Juicy Gel.
-
Three or four nights a week: I use Glow Toner. The other three or four nights a week: I use Very Amazing Retinal.
-
Then Much Plumper Skin.
-
Now, I'm also going to be contentious because then, I use Very Luxe Face Cream.
-
Then Face Hero. Because I like the feel of oil over my moisturiser.
Skincare Advice: Always double cleanse. Always wear a SPF.
Favourite Ingredient: Probably peptides. They give my skin a nice big, plumpy lift. And that’s a technical term: ‘Plumpy lift.’
Skincare Sin: Using face oil after my moisturiser. But I feel like that’s all.
How Has Your Routine Changed: I’m now definitely looking for more actives and products that deliver bang for buck. Which is why I think products like Much Plumper Skin are great because it's peptides and hyaluronic acid. I like that our formulas always overdeliver. It's not just one ingredient: They're really formulated so all of the ingredients work in synergy.
Where Do Your Skincare: If I'm using Fancy Face, I massage it in before I get into the shower for a minute or so and then when I'm in the shower, I use my damp cloth to take everything off and follow with Juicy Gel. In the morning I just use Juicy Gel in the shower and then the rest of my routine I do in my bathroom.
Why Do You Skincare: I don't feel like me if I don't. And that's probably because of my legacy with skincare and how I was brought up. I think it came from mum and grandma. Both used, not expensive moisturiser, but they used moisturiser. And from a very young age, I was encouraged to wear and use moisturiser and SPF. (My mum was a very early adopter of SPF because she had really fair skin.) And to clean your face was just something that was instilled in me from a very young age.
Now, I don't feel like me if I haven't done my skincare. It makes me feel like my best self.
