Why choose Go-To products?

We want to protect skin, nourish it, look after it, and keep that barrier strong. Australian made and owned, using best-in-class ingredients, our products rely heavily on (chiefly Australian) plant and nut oils because we know them to be extremely effective.

Across the range we exclude ingredients that have been shown to be potentially harmful to the body, because to be frank, it's easy to find alternatives that are shown to be less likely to piss off someone's skin. Things like parabens, PEGs, sulfates (SLS/SLES), GMOs, mineral oils and petrolatum, we leave out. It costs us nothing in terms of sensory, and means more people (those who are sensitive, highly-reactive, or have compromised skin) might be able to use our products. 

Go-To skincare is formulated to be equal parts gentle, nourishing, and targeted, to ensure every skin type - sensitive, oily, combination, dry, ageing, normal - is happy, healthy, and calm. 

How do I choose the right products for my skin type?

If your skin is losing its elasticity, showing more fine lines and wrinkles, then you’re probably ageing! (Which is totally normal.) This is when you incorporate a rich moisturiser into your routine to soothe and prevent dry skin. Also keep an eye on ingredients like hyaluronic acid to hold moisture in. And SPF. 

If your skin is shiney, prone to blemishes and congestion, and features large or coarse pores, you’re likely oily. The MO for oily faces should be to remove excess oil without stripping the skin (a gentle mousse cleanser is ideal for this, even better if it contains salicylic acid), and lightweight nourishment.

If your skin feels tight, dry, or even rough at times, with zero oily patches, then we’d say you have dry skin. Reaching for oil-rich skincare is going to help make up for what your skin is not producing naturally. Best to avoid skincare and cosmetics made with sulfates as they will likely worsen your skin. And exfoliate.

If your skin is prone to rashes, inflammation, and redness, you’re probably sensitive. So, where possible, opt for specialised skincare (super gentle, dermatologically tested formulas) and makeup). And don’t forget to patch test products prior to welcoming them into your routine. 

If you’ve got both oily and dry spots, that’s combination skin. Face oils are a great one to replenish dry spots and regulate excess oil production at the same time. Multi-masking was also made for combo cats; applying clay to your t-zone and a hydrating mask on the cheeks.
